THE DAUGHTER'S NAME.
. American sooioty seems to liavo been much impressed lately by,tho direction of a little letter sent by King Edward "to tho daughter of Mr. AAltitelaw ltoid jusfc beforo her marriage. Ho addressed it to Miss Whitelaw Held, and America with a great sigh of relief at having a most difficult problem settled for it . at last, realises that now it can discriminate, very clearly between tho daughters of various brothers by assi-nine to each, her father's name. Jessie? and Myrtle the daughter of Lincoln Brown and Meadows Brown, will be addressed as Miss Lincoln Brown and Miss Meadows Brown instead of by their own Christian names, and should they have younger sisters theso will bo known as Miss Ethel Lincoln Brown and Miss Daisy Meadows Brown, all of which is very nice and_ satisfactory for girls whoso fathers have fino big names, though Miss Thomas Smith may not feel so pleased, Modern medical men declare that tho finger nails afford better evidence as.tho stato of a person's health ■ than tho eyo or the colour or texture of tho skin. A very dis tinct gloss and a rapid growth of tho nail are always, they declare, symptomatic of good circulation, digestion, and general health
