STORMY WEATHER.
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'.) Auckland, August 5. ' Tho weather on tho coaßt was very bad on Tuesday night, blowing a hard southerly gale with heavy soa and thick rainy weather. Tho Government steamer Tutanekai from Napier had a hard time in tho Bay of Plenty, and was hove-to for about eight, hours. The barque Daniel, which left Auckland for Sydney on Monday, put back to port this morning, owing to severe weather conditions. (BT TELEGBArn.—SPECIAI, CORRESPONDENT.) New Plymouth, August 5. . A gale lias been raging hero to-day. Fcnces, chimnoys,, and plate-glass windows are suffering severely. Tho wind is very dold, and inusfc bo bad for stock.
