Auckland, August 5. • To cope with tho heavy inltux of visitors, which' will almost certainly set in towards tho end of the present week, tho steamship companies concerned arc making special arrangements.. Some 170 passengers arrived by tho llotoiti from New Plymouth, Wellington, and Nelson to-day, while 200 ar> rived, by tho Moana, via the East Coast, on Sundav, and 250 . moro will. i*each hexo by tho Waikaro to-morrow. The Union Company will also run the Flora on a special trip, arriving in Auckland on Friday with ,150 passengers, and tho . same vessel, il neoessary, will double-bank by returning, to Gisborno • for more. On the West Coast tho Rotoiti, leaving to-day, returns from Wellington without calling at Nelson, and should land 220 visitors, at Onehunga on Sunday, the Takapuna from New Plymouth bringing a similar complement on tho samo day. Tho Huddart Parker steamer Wimmera should bring to Auckland on Sunday 300 more. Altogether it is calculated that' Union and Huddart Parker Companies on both coasts will have accounted for about 1600 passengers for tho week endin" Sunday next. Tho Clansman, which left lfussell for Auckland last evening, haf S3 passengers on board.
