The secretary of the N.Z.F.A. has asked tho O.F.A. to poncil accommodation ; for. throe -teams. If five teams compete it will probably bo necessary to-, play .four teams simultaneously on tho Wednesday, .the fifth team to'play on Thursday or' Friday ono' of/tho two'teams successful on'tho first day,'and tho, two teams remaining inlto play-the final on the Saturday. This' may. mean that-one team will havo to play three matches in four' days, which will bo a very considcrablo strain. ■ Christchurch has four clubs—Christchuroh, Burnham, Sydenham, and Celtic.'Tho competition, just concludod, was won by Clmstchurcli, who went through without defeat,'writes " Left-Wing." _Thp Shield competition follows, and for it there are six ont'ries—Christchurch A and B, Sydenham, A and' B, Celtic, and BurnhAm. It was suggested at tho annual meeting of the English Football Association" that Law 1 (Laws of tho Game) should be altered to allow for the introduction, of flags.to bo placed on each side of the touch-line at the centro.ofcthe field, so as to assist the referee in deciding whon a player is off-side. Consideration of the proposal was promised.
