Final arrangements' were made for Mrs. Harrison Lee's city mission, commencing /in St. John's Church, on Sunday night-. ■ 1 It was resolved to invite. Miss-Hughes, who has just completed a most successor tour of Australia, to conduct a iweek's temperanca mission in Wellington, commencing on Aug-, ust 23. > '• ' :
Tho : following resolutions .were carried:— "That, tins meeting' notes with great' satisfaction the rapid widening of. the, breach between Labour and Liquor, as exemplified by the recent debate at the Trades'arid,Laboiu' Conference, and hones to see it continue until the Labour party is united as one man for No-License."
"That this meeting rejoices at the news ' just'to hand from America, to the effect that Prohibition had been carried- in the State of North California by .'a very large majority, and also expresses its surprise arid, regret that so important' an item should have beea • omitted from the news supplied by cable from America, arid desires to call the attention of tlie Press Association to the' ocii» sion."' .
