With regard to tho disobeying of an order from tho Commander-in-Chief of the Channel Squadron (Admiral Lord Charles Beresford) by the Commander of the First Cruiser Squadron (Rear-Admiral Sir Percy Scott) , —which signal, according to a correspondent of "The Times," would have led to a collision — Admiral Beresford declines to communicate anything regarding the incident, except to the Admiralty. ' , : The "Standard" reports that Admiral-Beres-ford inquired why Sir Percy Scott had disobeyed his signal; and was informed that it might hare been dangerous to have carried out the order. - Admiral Beresford then, signalled,, "Quite, correct .to disobey."' ' The ■ Prime : Minister ; has stated that the Government will take prompt and effective action if anything detrimental to discipline .• found to exist.. a The " Daily Chronicle" states that at a i: cent levee, Admiral'- Sir John Fisher, First Sea Lord, in the presence of Cabinet Ministers and foreign. ambassadors, offered to shake hands with Lord Charles Beresford, who ostentatiously refused, placing his hands behind his back
