■ Mrs.- D.- -M.': Findlay; gave' a. large "At Ilomo" at her house in Tinakori Eoad, when about eighty guests were present. An Italian band was in attendance, and during tho afternoon Miss. Rosinii 'Buckmann sang several times, giving especial • pleasure with her rendering of the p0i..50ng...-..Mrs. Findlay herself actcd as accompanist, . and Miss Maloncy'also, played.. A recitation was given by Miss .Wylio. The-., tea-table looked very pretty with streamers of i violet and whito ribbons, draped ;with smila'x, and suspended aboyo the table, and manyflittje silver vases •.of whito" freesias and violet's, and-'littlo silver dishes of confectionery. Mrs. Findlay received her guests in a-beautiful gown of green taffetas,' with Irishi'cr'oclict lace, and touches of pale blue. Miss Gibson-Smith, her - n}ece, ; who presided ;at the tea,: table, wore. a . frock of cream clotli with handsome laco trimming.. .. Mrs. Harris, who ' also helped, was in black taffetas- with black picture' hat,; and. the. Misses 'Douglas, . from Qucenstown, wore'tailor-made costumes of green and of brown, i'.ivith. hats to match. Lady Steward wore black silk dress and smart black toq'uo. with aigrettes'; Mrs. Fitchott, grey coat .and skirt, and corisi? toque; Miss Skorrett was in black; Mrs. 1 ; Miles, blue coat and skirt; Mrs. Samuel, prune, costume and brown hat; Miss' Miles, brown tailormade; Mrs.:.
