THE TRAMWAY EMPLOYEES' DEMANDS.
.A STRIKE IMPROBABLE. Regarding tho statement in yesterday's Dominion in coVmcction with a possible strike of tho Corporation tramway employees unless their full demands-were agreed to by the City Council, a reporter asked the Mayor . (the Hon, T. W. Hislop) if ho know anything about it. ' 1 '■ The .Mayor said he thought it very im« probable that a strike would tako place, and ho expressed tho opinion that the men would be very ill-advised if they took that course of action. From information gained by a reporter it appears that tho statement in Monday's Dominion dealing with tho Finance CommittGo's recommendation was read at the meeting of tho Tramway Employees' Union that • evening, and somo of tho members talked rather wildly. A mooting of tho Union will be hold on Sundays when tho matter will como up for discussion. Mr. Stuart Richardson, City ElectricalEngineer and Tramway Manager, said that lie thought a strike very improbable. More- ' over, it would not havo "a ghost of a show." It would bo so easy to get men, although tho trained . men could not be replaced at once.
