The'programme for the Marton Jockey Club's. annual meeting, to be held on September 2 and 3, appears in this.'issue.-' Tho stakes to be given' away this year have been increased by 200 sovs.' as' compared with last year's programme." -THe-'Marton Handicap, one mile, the principal. event i on, the first' day; is worth 150 sovs:, whilst the Crofton Handicap, one mile anil a distance, of 120 sovs., is the chief event'on the second day. . All- the hack events have. been increased to. 60 sovs., and tho two open short races ; to. 80 sovs. Tho hunters ;• have been well looked after; the Hunt Cup being raised from 30 to 60 sovs., and another 10 sovs.' has been added to the Hunters' Hurdles.

' During tho past year considerable improvements have been made to the Club's property and tho 1 course proper, and training tracks aro now in excellent'condition. Tho •progressive policy adopted by the Club, and the excellent stakes offered, should certainly attract tho attention .of owners. Nominations for all events close with the secretary,, at Marton on . August 14.
