TOTAL ENLISTED. (BT TELEGRAPH' —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.). (Rec. July 3, 5.15 p.m.) London, July 2. . Mr. Haldano, Secretary for War, stated in on interview that 170,000 had joined the Territorial Army at tlio end of Juno. Ho considered this satisfactory.
. The "Express" of May 13 states:—"The authorities would .be satisfied, it is stated, if the total reaches about 280,000 by July 1, but they do not estimato that more than 220,000 will bo enrolled by then." The realisation falls short of the lower estimato by. 50,000. It is reported that tho districts where recruiting is slack are:—Wales, Cumberland, Devonshire, Durham, Essex, Hants, Lancashire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Notts, Staffordshire, Surrey, Warwickshire.
