WOODVILLE.

An accident occurred on Wednesday evening, by which Mr. J. Grant lost a horse. A lad named Eric Loader, employed in distributing papers, was returning home, on horsoback, when ho ccPided with a horse and dray. It was dark at the time, and it is stated that no lights were carried by the driver of tho dray. Tho shaft entered the horse's side, and did so much injury that the animal had to bo destroyed. The boy escaped with several bruises. ■ Mr. It. Craig is tho only person so far who has announced his intention of seeking municipal honours.
