Mr. Leo raised tho question of accommodation for pupils who had qualified for admission to 1 tho Girls' High School under the freo secondary education regulations. Ho wished. to know if any 'moro could bo admitted.

The Chairman replied in the negative. | Mr. Lcb thought that the matter deserved consideration, for upon tho closing of the secondary. departments of the district high schools at Newtown and The Terrace, subsequent upon tho completion of tho annexe at the 1 Wellington ' Collego, they would bo faced with the problem of -finding accommodation for tlio girls who woro at pressnt attending these district high sclicols. They had solved tho question so far as the boy's wore concerned, but what about tho girls? He thought that the Government should bo approached upon the question. .Tho Chairman said that the responsibility of increasing tho accommodation of the Girls' High School was upon tho Government, not tho College Governors. There was, ordinarily speaking, sufficient accommodation at tho school, but if tho Government desired thorn to admit more extra pupils than they had room for it should be prepared to increase tho accommodation. ; Mr. Leo said he would , bring up tho matter at tho next meeting of tho Governors and gave notice of motion accordingly.
