CABINET DECISIONS.

Advantage' was taken yesterday of the presence in-the capital of all the Ministers of the Crown, except tho Hon. G. Fowlds, to hold Cabinet meetings, both in the morning and: afternoon. The expenditure of a considerable amount of money, chiofly in small sums for works in various parts of the Dominion, was authorised. _ Tho following* railway votes were authorised:—!. . North Island Main Trunk, £1000. Canterbury.and Marlborough, £250. ' Gore-Waikaka, £2000. ' : Orepuki-Waiau, £1400. Midland, £500. Riversdale-Switzers, £800. Catlins-Waimaliaka, £550. Tenders were accepted for platelayers' cottages at To Hama and Wellsford,, on the Helensvillo Northwards Railway. The lowest tender was accepted for station buildings at Te Tua, on the Orepuki-Waiau. Railway. The lowest tenders for creosoting sleepers and for a supply, of sleepers for the Kawa-kawa-Grahamstown Railway were accepted; also, tenders for the supply of 10,000 silver pine sleepers. ;■ Tenders were accepted for the erection of a post office at- Woolston, Christchurch, renovation of the Courthouse nt Wanganui, and the lowest tenders for tho erection of a police station at Dunollie, West Coast, .and for a houso.at To Aroha Sanatorium. The erection of a workshop for the Public Works Department at Christchurch was authorised. The expenditure of £220 on works at the Porirua Mental Hospital was authorised. ; A tender for the supply of Mount timers stono, for the new Magistrate's Courthouso at Christchurch, was accepted. The following expenditures on roads were, authorised:— Wall lload, Hokitika, £285. Buller Road line to Westport, £300. Broadwood-llerekino Road, Bay of Islands. £300. ■ i Huangaroa Bridge, Wairarapa, £250. • Cabinet also accepted the lctwest'tender for supply of linseed oil, arid authorised the purchase of a further supply of "Black Diamonds," for drilling purposes in connection with mining.
