MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
Dospito tlia unpleasant weather, the Missions to Soamen Institute was crowded •in every part last night, when the students of tho Wellington College, under the direction of Mr. Firth (the principal),' provided an enjoyable concert. The Missionqr (Mr.,, Jamos Moore), who presided, addressed" tho audience on the temporancoJjiiestion, taking ilia word "Imagination" for: a subject, iweivo men subsequently took the pledge of. total abstinence as a result of tho address. Tho usual conundrum competition took place, and was won by sailors from tho R.M.S. Athenio. Sovoral popular choruses ■ were sung by the sailors present. Items wero contributed to tho programme by tho following Misses Ward, G. Watkins, Mossrs. Hales, Jacobs, J Firth, Barnett, and Hazel (Corinthic). 'Mr.' Levy gave an exhibition of club-swinging, and the College gymnasium: squad an'exhibition of physical drill. Miss Watkins acted as accompanist. Tho performers woro accorded a hoarty voto of thanks, to whioh Mr. Firth briefly.responded. Occasion was taken during the evening-to present a small presentation to Mr. A. Kodwell, a Mission helper, who is leaving on'a trip to England by the Athenie.
