A Press Association telegram from Hokitika states: —Mr. William Baxter, a member of tho firm of Baxtor Bros., sawmillors, was entertained by tho sporting clubs and employees of the Ann, prior to his departure for the Lower Hutt, where bo assumes management of tho firm's business. Mr. Baxter is part owner of seven of tho largest sawmills on tho coast, employing constantly over "200 men. Tho firm is extending its busiuoss to Wellington province, with tho view of opening a sash and door factory, and to snpply all accessories to the building , trado.
