Tho course was in excellent ordor, and tho attendance a recbrd for'a winter .meeting. F; E.. From a splendid start Kaikomako and Gold Dredge at onco bocame prominent. Shortly afterwards Ngawcrft stumbled, and unseated the rider. Turning into the straight Rosino came down, and Sarsficld fell over the top of her. Donovan, rider of Rosine, got a bad shaking, and the horses behind these had to be pulled clear, and had practically no chance of winning.
