■ MEMBERSHIP 'CAMPAIGN. : A large meeting of members- was 'held in. the Y.M.C.A. Concert Hall last night to discuss arrangements for the forthcoming mombarship campaign. Mr. C: S. Falconer ■presided,; and Mr. J." 6.1 W. Aitken, M.P.; was also, present. , The .campaign will i open next Monday, andtrill last until June 6. Mr. C. E. Dowland was elected captain of the Red team;' and Mr. H. Osborne of the Blue. Messrs. G. Clark and -A. W. Parton were appointed secretaries to the Reds and Blues respectively. •Tho membors of : both teams will meet at tea next Monday evening, when tactics will -be discussed; Each" team will attempt to obtain 500 membors, and tho winning team will be entertained by the losers on' June >8.: "A\large "barometer" . will "bo displayed: outside the building to show tho progress of the campaign from day to day. JUNIOR DEPARTMENT. ■'At tho opening meeting of the Y.M.C.A. junior department in,-the new building, hold on Thursday night, 193 members and about 50 prospective' members attended. Mr. W; C. Hemery presided,wand-.a very enthusiastic reception .was tendered to the Rev., Charles Porter, who gave an- address. The meeting started at 7.30 p.m. 'sharp,' and was brought to a close at 8 o'clock, when an adjournment was made to the gymnasium, where performances were/given in physical, drill and 'basket ball, in thoipresoncb of. a very large number of parents and visitors, and tho president of the Association (Mr. J. G.' W. Aitkcn, M.P.).
