Road. —The contractors are prepared to . make. v a • start next week," but unfortunately-1 the r. thirds for this road, are not yet. available. Contract No. 85a; metalling 85 chains' of • Williamson's-Road West, at M'L'ennas, is >. completed. Contract 86, orection of Marton .-<■ Block Bridge.—The contractor was •' here a-. few days ago, and stated there was great , difficulty in getting an early iron- — bark; but hopes to have, it in, July, .when he will lose no .time in making a start. ~ Con--. tract 87, trimming: and a. portion ■ of Auputa-Pouraugaki Roads.—Mr. Brady's tender was accepted since last meeting, and - the work commenced, .but the last rain had so softened !the' formation, that I do not think aiay further metalling' will be dona before : the spring'. I have - noticed . several settlers carting' metal when, tho .roads .were-J - in anything'but a fit state for the work. ..
