Arrangements aro to be made for an oarly commencement of the winter lectures which proved so successful last season, as the President (Colonel A. W. Robin) is desirous of covering as much ground as possible. , ' THE ANNUAL REPORT! ■ The annual report to be presented to members on Friday ovening states that the difficulty experienced in former years with regard to accommodation for the Club's moetings was ovorcomo during last winter through the good offices of tho President, who made provision for the officers to meet in x fairly comfortable quarters in the Artillery .Lecture Room, at Buckle Street. Tho syllabus for tho session comprised progressive- lectures on various. military subjects, and much enthusiasm was evinced by tho members, tho 'meetings being largely attended. The membership had -greatly increased during the" yoar," and tho staff ride or tour, held at the close of tho- session, evoked considerable interest. Thero was a keen desire, amongst the officers, that such tours be held as often. as opportunity permitted. , Soveral social functions in connection with tho Club wore, held - during • the winter months; the At Home," held in the Masonic Hall, Boulcott Street, was an unqualified succcss. The new Garrison ,Hall had now been completed, a'iid the Club had been allotted a suite of rooms ; in the building., The formation of a military library in the , club rooms, states tho Committee, was an important matter, which should receive the attention of the members, and arrangements should also be made for a regular supply of naval and military papers, that members may keep up-to-date with military matters throughout" tho .Empire. The Club was indebted to His Excellency tho Governor for his in inviting the officers,to hold their meetings at Government House, . and tho Committee places on record its . high appreciation of Lord Plunket's kindness., It was recommended that .now rules and regulations bo drawn up,'and a librarian appointed; in addition to tho secretary. The Committee trusted that members would meet; more frequently for the encouragement of volunteering, tho-,promotion of-.sociability, and tho 'discussion of matters connected with the welfare and development of tho Clilb, thereby extending the military knowledge, status, and esprit de of tho officers of the' Wellington Garrison. 1 .
