VISIT TO THE WEST COAST. (BY - TELEGItAm. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Creymouth, May 6. v - Sir J. G. Ward visited the Stato coal mine this morning, and received deputations from tho Miners' Union. Tho question of street formation, Stato owned steamers, and several other local mattors wero brought forward, and tho Premier promised to give thorn consideration. At 2.30 p.m., tho Premior and Lady Ward visited the Stato school. . Tho Premier addressed'tho children, and gave them a holiday. Tho children sang " God Savo tho King," and gave hearty chccrs for tho Premier and Lady Ward. At 3.30 p.m., tho Promior formally opened tho new post office, and in doing so referred to the rapid progress tho town was making. Ho was presented with a gold key as a memento of the occasion. Tho proceedings wero enthusiastic! . ; Tho Promior aud Lady Ward left for Kumara at 5.30 p.m.* to attend a social.
