Hall-Jonos), accompanied by his wife, passed through Feikling this afternoon oil an, official inspection of tho Main lnink line. lho Minister said ho had been making an endeavour ever since his return from England to get up to tho works, but this had been, his first opportunity. Tho visit is to bo devoted wholly to an inspection of tho work at both ends, so that ho may bo able to make a personal report to Parliament. Sir. Hall-Jones wjll return to Wellington next Monday or Tuesday. Questioned as to when lie intended paying' his promised visit to. the Feilding, Kmibolton, and Apiti districts, the Minister said ho was looking forward to the engagoment, but could not yet namo a definite date.
