THE OLYMPIC GAMES.
PROGRESS OF THE KERR-aiURRAY PROPOSAL. - A meeting of the cxecutivo' of, the CQmmitteo 'which lias in hand tlio proposal to send Messrs. Ivorr and Murray Home to represent Now Zealand at tlio Olympic gamos was held at Armit's rooms last evening, for tlio purpose of receiving progress reports. It was stated that'a'sum of £<10 was at present in sight in the city, but the holidays had prevented the country lists being returned. As regards Murray, it was stated that he had already been' provided fpr in Canterbury, and would bo leaving Christch'urch, for Wellington," to-day by tlio "U'arrimoo, en route to Sydney to join tlio steamer for London. It is understood that if another £25 can be raised it is practically a certainty that Kerr, will bo sent, iii which case he will leave New Zealand next month, direct_to London. Another meeting of tho committee will bo hold'on Monday, when further : reports will bo considered.'
