ASSOCIATION. ; ''A meeting of the newly-formed South Wellington Association. Football Club was held last evening. \ The following 'officers were elected for. the . ensuing ' season:—President, Mr. J. A team has already been entered" for the Schools' Competition, and if found practicable a team will also bo entered for the: Boys' League. Gallaher, ■ The President (Mr. Devore), in referring to professionalism, said ho did riot consider the matter at all dangerous. In his opinion' the centres of the population in New: Zealand wore too Gmall and few. It was decided to instruct dolegates to tlio N.Z.R.U. in roferenco to special challenge matches for the Ranfurly Shield that the challenging team rcceivo only board and travelling- expenses, and that tho balance remain with tlio holders of tho Shield. It was also decided to support any motion at tho N.Z.R.U. having for its intention tho division of tho profits from inter-Union and British. matches throughout New Zealand between , the N.Z.R.U. and the various Unions affiliated.
