SOUTHERN CROPS.
A gentleman who has just returned from visiting Otago states that tho country has undergone a wonderful transformation since' lie previously saw it, about two months ago, .during the .period of drought. ..Almost all tho crops, liavo boen gathered, and probably the majority of ; them threshed, though in other seasons the same crops'may be seen in the fields till June. The country has completely recovered from tho • effects of the drought, and the harvest'has been most successful. Tho turnip-crop has been unusually largo, by way of compensation for the injuries caused to Canterbury turnips by the blight.
