■ ——$ THEATRE ROYAL. 1 ' The • piyrticularly strong programmo' which has been presented during this week by Fuller's Entertainers retained its drawing power right up to last night, when there was a large and v appreciative audience. There will be a change of programmo to-night. . . TEE ROYAL PICTURES. It is always difficult for late comers to get a scat at His Majesty's to view the splendid set of pictures projected, and last night the theatre was crowded in all_ parts. "The Pleasant Sido of Soldiers' Life," and "The Pierrot's Jealousy,' 'aro two Very fino subjects among'the many' showing. A matineo will be held this afternoon, and every child will receive a present. The programme will be repeated to-night. ..MISSIONS TO; SEAMEN. The usual ambulance meeting took placo at tho Missions to Seamen Institute last night, before a large and appreciative audience. Air. Jas. Moore, the' missioner, occupied the chair, and.during the evening gave some useful and instructive hints in connection with fractures, cuts, bums, • and- health matters. A competition, was held, and won by sailors from ships in port. .The musical nart of tho programme was arranged by Mrs.yHugo, the following contributing items Misses N. Hugo, Florrie Ward, and, Messrs. Solomon and Walsh. Miss Hugo: played tho . accompaniments. The performers were given a hearty vote of thanks at the. closo of ( the meeting. 'J -OPERA HOUSE. ■ The Herbert Flemming Company, againstaged "The Morals of Marcus" before a largo audience; at tho Opera Houso last night. It is unnecessary to tell the prinicipal episode from The Vicar of Wakefield," which will be produced under tho. title of "Olivia" at the 'Opera House this evening. Suffice.it to,say that the 6tory of Dr. Primrose's dearest daughter, lured from her peaceful homo by the profligato Squire Thornliill; her marriage, the joy and grief, and joy again of her family during tho various phases of tho story, are all faithfully interpreted by tho Herbert Flemming Comedy Company,' including tho finished octor-managor himself as tho vicar. At the outset it may bo said that not n detail is missing—£ho vicar's cottage, orchard, and apple tree, aro complete in presentment, oven down to the cuckoo clock in the library, while the dressing and surroundings aro perfect in every particular. Tho glees and pastorals introduced into the play have been specially comSosed by Mr. Frank Eugardo, and are renered by a doublo quartette of selected voices, CINDERELLA, PANTOMIME. Messrs. William Anderson and John F. Sheridan's spectacular Drury Lano pantomime, "Cinderella," which has just concluded a remarkably long and successful season in, the Commonwealth, will bo produced at tho Opera House nest Saturday ovening. Tho management stato that "Cinderella" will bo staged on the same .scale that has always characterised their previous productions of a similar kind. Tho scenery includes beautifully-exe-cuted studies, among them the " home of : the immortals" in tho forest, Cinderella's kitchen, tho. baronial castle, and tlio nalace, and a transformation scene, entitled the " Birth of Spring." The company' is said to be an exceptionally strong one, gathered from England, America, and Australasia. There will be numerous ballets, including a rainbow dance and a snow and robin ballet. The company it is understood, will have a powerful operatic chorus, tho whole company numbering 108 persons. The pantomime will be under the direction of John F. Sheridan, who plays the Baroness. A feature is made of what is described as the beautiful Porcelain March which was imported from Paris. Also a fine animal act (tlio cow) by Messrs. Morris and Wilson, tho well-known acrobats. Tho musical numbers will include the latest and most up-to-date and popular melodies. Several children s matinees will bo given, the first tnliing placo on Easter Monday afternoon. The box plan will be opened at Holliday's on Tuesdav next, at 10 o clock. MUNICIPAL ORGAN RECITALS. Mr. Maughan Barnett willgive the weeklv organ recital m the Town Hall on Tuesdav evening next, lite programme will be selected from pieces that have been marked on the programms by the audience at the provious five "recitals, and .will include Schubert's Cradle Song," Handel's "Otho," gavotte tlio overture to "Zampa,". and other items '
