CARPENTERS' STRIKE.
o STOCKTON COAL COMPANY'S MENLEAVE WORK. (NT . TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION".) Westport, April 4. Thirteen carpenters employed at the Wcstport-Stockton Conl. Compaiiy's construction works at Nsjakawau, north of Westport, have demanded an, increase of wages from eleven to twelve shillings per day. The request, was not granted, and the men struck. Three returned, but the others remain out. Stockton is a new company, which has not yet reached the coal output stage. There is no Labour Union there.
