Tho play is half problem, half .melodrama/ Please do not-mortally' offond any. .Johnson-, in lie man by asking tho name of tho villain. This much' li6_ expects you to. know. The. hero is tho corps - (maybe Corpso ono day) as a', body'. 1 ; As;,ther.o' are. no actresses in this play,: Justice..takes, tho' part of tho horoino,. 'and, 'I. understand, Spito is ;tho adventuress and accomplice- of tho villain.Tho .villain endeavours ;to betray tho, heromo, but-tho hero' fights for Jnstico. Tho villain; uses tho. adventuress to endeavour'-to 'gain hie own ends, and gradually weaves his web. Incidentally, tho hero turns out to bo also tho clown. * Tho problem/thickens ; Justice; is, bound; tho hero's action is misiirdnrot™"'!.' At tho end of th<s third act enter the polioe and arrest tho hero. Tho curtain falls, uiul is'follo'wed by a long interval. The. interval is-'still on, and tho hero is anxious for the last act, with'.death or glory? Who can tell?•This play is produced solely, I am told, ill the cause of liight, and also serves to amuse tho; populace irho, I trust, will appreciate it. 1 have heard - some .npenlr nf >fc ns •jllr and childish; but one'must think of tho high ideal;' What can we. have 'bettor than mo liero lighting for!
