Mr. Daniel Wong, who took charge, on its establishment' five or sis years ago, of tho Anglican . Chinese Mission, in \ Frederick' Street, diod aftor a prolonged illness on Saturday. Mr. Wong was born in China, and,, coming as . a youth to Australia, was educated! at , tho Anglican Christian Mission School at Melbourno. Before coming to Wellington, ho did useful work among his fellowcountrymen in Westland. •' His active conduct of tho local mission, which he had carried on most successfully, terminated about'a'year ago, owing ,to Mr. Wong's illness, and : Mr, Dai Chum took up the work.
