PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH.

SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.

| The Donald M'Leaii Street Primitive-Me-thodist Church was crowded last evening at the annual public meeting in connection with the twenty-eighth'anniversary of the Sunday School. The Rev. J. Cocker presided.. The annual roport stated that tho year had been a very satisfactory one. Tliero were 131 children oh the school roll, with an average attendance pf 80. During tho last few months thero had been a large increase of membership consequent; upon the reorganisation of the Biblo class by Mr. Cockfir. It was stated that during the coming year special attention would be given to this department, and also' to the infant work, which •had made. very satisfactory progress. • A movoment was on foot to establish a gymnasium in connection with the Sunday school. In the connexional examination for'the Dominion, Horace Conker had obtained 100 per cent, of marks,..-ind John Bigg £0 per cent., while, six certificates had been gained. Speeches were made' by the Revs. J. Dawson, H. Daniel, and C. A. Sims. Mr. E. 0.Foltharn, superintendent, presented over 40 prizes, won by tho scholars. Special hymns were sung, by the children, under tho condnctorship of Mr. 11. Wilson, and assisted by a special orchestra. .

Recitations were given by scholars, and songs by the Misses Cummins, Mis 3 Embury Miss Carriugion, Mrs. Good, and Mr. 11. t! Sando.

Tho following are the officers for tho coming year:—Superintendent, Mr. E. C. Feltham; vice-superintendent, Mr. M. Smith: secretary,-Mr. C. Ridding; treasurer and librarian, Mr. E. Osley; organist, Miss Embury; Assistant organist, Miss Rig/*; cradle roll secretary, Miss Stevens; delegate to tlm quarter-day! meeting and Sunday School Union, Mr. A. Miller; literature secretary, Mr..El T. Sando; secretary 1.8. E.A.,.A., Miss Mann; tablet secretary, Mr. M. Cable.
