In regard to tho defence stores charges of , £18, ho called the attention of the men to the fact that every neglected rifle meant a charge upon the corps. As to the tournament fund it was satisfactory that, after paying the expenses of a team to Cliristchurch, a nest egg remains of £14. The year's work had been very satisfactory, and tho City Rifles had held pride of place. They could do with a few recruits, but were in tho happy position of only requiring good men.
