LACROSSE.

The annual meeting of lacrosse players in Wellington'.was held last night, Mr. A., J. Casoy: occupying tlioch(iir. . , - , Tlio committee,■ in .their, yearly report, which was unanimously'' adopted, congratulated . members on the progress which had been made in the earno'of lacrosse in Wollington'.during tlio past season. Tlio use of tlio Basin Reserve had, it 'was stated,, proved a great boon. I In tho .first contest betwocn Auckland and Wollington at Auckland, tho Northern team, had won by 7 goals to 5 goals, but tho return-match at Wellington resulted in a viotory for Wollington by 12 goals to 4 goals. As a result ofj public exhibitions, a . good many npiv members ;had been secured, and- in order-to stimulate interest in tlio game tho Wellington Lacrosse Club was .disbandej}) and; two ; clubs, .'the. Federal, and tho Capitol, were formed.' It 'was regretted that towards ..the end 'of tho season diminished: interest, was manifested by; somo of tho leading players, .and the hope was expressed that tho ehsning season'would bo successful in evqry respect;' . . ; A committee, consisting of Messrs. Horn, Casoy, Hudson; Moran, Jantke, and; Clouston, was set up to draft rules for the proposed Wollingtoh Lacrosse Association. It was decided'- to.\ho!d practices at' Miramar until the Basin Reserve is nvailablo. The meeting then adjourned.
