THE WAIRARAPA SHOWS.

AMALGAMATION QUESTION DISCUSSED. IDY XELEGaAPn—rREB3 ASSOCIATION.) ■ Mastsrton, March 20. . The question of removing the show site to Solway was discussed at the meeting of the Mastertou Cliamber of Commerce to-day, when Mr. M. Caselberg moved that tho Chamber considered it against tho best interests of tho town to remove the show from tho present site. Tho speaker, in his arguments, covered little new ground, enlarging mostly upon the distance of the proposed Solway site and tho. loss ho considered tradespeople would suffer ■ through visitors not visiting the town proper at all. Mr. T. G. Mason seconded tho motion, which wais strongly opposed by Messrs. J. D. Cruickshanlc, G. C. Suminereil, J. B. Keith, and B. J. Dolan, and when put to the meeting-it was lost, only the mover and soconder supporting it. Tho question of amalgamation of two Wairarapa shows has been given another filip by tho following notice of motion handed to tho Secretary of tho Carterton Society to-day by Mr. Quiiiton Donald, a member of tho General Committee of'the Society:— "That tho quostion of combining with the Mastertou A. and P. Association to hold ono general Wairarapa Show at Solwoy bo discussed at tho uoxt mooting of the Committeo, with a vlow to making r. rccoimnmidation to tho general mooting of morabera."
