According to an exchange, the.-transfer of captains in the Huddart-Parlcer steamers; made necessary by the arrival of ■the Uliinaroa, has been almost definitely settled.. It .'is practically certain that Captain Entwistle-will iako the Wimmera, when, Captain Wyllie takes command of the new steamer. Captain Waller was offered the command of the Wimmera, but wished to remain in the Victoria. ■ The Victoria, it was first intended, should lay up, but now she will remain in the Syclney-Auck-land-Dunedin • service. • ■ Very probably the Zealandia will go to Western Australia. The cargo steamer Auchendale,- .3952 / tons, Captain M'Clure, now en route from Sydney to Manila, has been chartered to load hardwood at Bunbury in May for Wellington and Timaru.
