FIGHTING THE FRUIT FLY.
The visit to .Wellington', of Mr. W. A. Boucher, the' Auckland pomologist, seems to indicate that'the recent outbreak of fruit fly at Devonport is being extinguished satisfactorily enough to enable him safely to learo the scene of danger. Tho biologist (Mr. T. W. Kirk) says there has been no iVappearanco of the fly in the Napier and' Blenheinv orchards, which were attacked last year. Strict watch is still being kept over the orchard at Devonport.
