LOCKJAW CURED.

Sydney "Daily Telegraph"), Edgar Brunskill; ag«l 16,, son; of Mr., George Brunskill, ;a well-known dis-: trict farmer. and grazier, was admitted to tho \Vagga Hospital suffering from a severe attack of ; tetanus. ;, A fortnight . previously, whilst working at harvesting, ho got a long splinter from the handlo of, a'hay-fork deeply into his, thumb. Tho greater portion of 'tho splint-cr was pulled out at tho .timo, and a few days after his father cut the remaining portion- out. Tho. wound healed up well, and all\was apparently right,, until about ten ..days after tho mishap, when tho lad complained of being unwell, and in the morning his father decided to bring , him to tho hospital. Lockjaw set in, and in that pain-, ful condition he had to bo driven 42 miles to Wagga in tho .broiling .heat. Tlfougji tho attack was severe,; tho lad has recovered, and it, is expected that he will bo disohargud from the hospital in a few days. The ease has been watched with considerable interest,., owing to tho fact that on an average it is only in ten out of every IUO cases that a euro is' eli'cctcd. •
