He conld seo no reason why 'tho membership'' should not bo increased to 2000, and advocated that every member usd: his "best- efforts' in order to get a new member to join. Mr. R. S; Abraham supported Mr. Balsillie," arid urged a canvass for donations from the business peoplo of tho town, who reaped benefits from, tho shows.''
Mr. Gillies believed in tho old syltem of clipping tho tickets each day. ■Mr. J. M. Johnston said the motion was irregular, as it should liavo been placed upon tho order' paper. ■:... ■ . 'Mr. Pringle said the people who. grumbled most, were -tho members Avho wanted, 305.; worth for £1. Mr. Cohen approved; of taking 'every precaution against abuse'of privileges, but said, it had been shown .that tho" abuse amounted to practically nothing.What th6y should do was to make a friend;;of each meniber, and not rub their hair against the grain. Another mombpr suggested cutting out the free beer tickets. Mr. Kyle moved as an amendment that the old system of card tickets be adopted. Mr. J. M..Johnston said tho whole pro-: ooduro was out of order. Mr.; Gillies said this was the only opportunity tho mombors had to sptak. Finally, Mr. Kylo's amendment was carried tbat there should bo issued one member's ticket good for. both-darn at gate and stand for both shows, two ladies' tickets to admit for any day at the winter show, single admission only; and at tho springs show admission, each day nt show gate.
