Sir, —At such a trying fcimo as the present, when citizens' aro - boing warned -of the impsnding water famine, it was n surprise t-o me this morning to sen employees of tho Council drawing water in tho Botanies! Gardons for watering tho beds for at least four hours. I. also noticed yesterday ' morning at an early hour a hose- being freely used in washing out tho tram waiting-shed at Clyde Quay. Surely, sir, the Council should'set tho oxnmpla in conserving the water.—l am, ote., PARCHED. February 18.
