A YOUNC MAN'S SAD DEATH. RIVER TRAGEDY. (BT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) ' Auckland, February 19. A young man named Alex. M'Dougall was drowned at Orewa yesterday whilst trying to save his wife. Deceased, who was spending a holiday at Orewa, went out with nis wife to bathe in a creels;. The latter, becoming exhausted, called to him for: help, and although lie could scarcely, swim ,he rushed out to her, and both _ sank together. ■ 011 coming up 'the wife grasped' a log, while the husband was carried down stream. The wife eventually swam ashore. At the.inquest a verdict of accidontal death was returned! Deceased leaves two young children.
