There, are seven colls for males . and threo for females, Afterwards'tho Minister received a deputation which asked that tho Government proceed' without delay', to erect, a new Deeds Offico in New Plymouth, tho present ono boi.ig ill-ventilated and hadly lightocl. The Stipendiary Magistrate, Mr. H. S. Fitzhorbert, remarked thatthe building was a disgrace' to tho;community. ■■■. It was .too small for tho volume, of business, and was most iriconvoniont. ; '' , 'Another deputation asked for a • Government subsidy on loan money now being expended by tho Carrington.Road Board in extending the metal on tho Carrington Road, principally for tho , bonefit of Crown lands settlers;-''whose- only outlet it is, - but .whose rates aro spent in an, adjoining district. .'■Mr. M'Gowan said it seemed to him that .the-'Government'would'-have to stop, in and deal with''tho question of destruction of roads by sawmill traffic. lAviothnr, request was mado from a farmer named- Barriball, who was seriously injured by a horso falling with' hin\ when ho was ' going, to act as a juror on an inquest. Ho asked for compensation. ' Ir. all the cases tho Minister promised to make full inquiries. , . \
