At the annual meeting of tho 'members of thei • South of tho' National Dairy'[ Association to-night, it was resolved that tho subscription bis on the . basis of tonnage without limit;"that nil masters for discussion at the annual conference to put ill tl]e hands,of tho Secretary thirty clear day's before the conference, and be forwarded at once to the various directorates for consideration ; that it bo recommended to the Minister for Agriculture to inoludo the cooling of milli in the Dairy Inspector's duties, and that inspectors instruct and assist farmers as to the, cheapest and best mode. > The motions carried are recommendations to the annual conference, Mr. 'Sawers; the Government instructor, gayo an address on cheese--grading, ajul stated that though this was going on as usual ho was unablo to detect any great improvement in clicesa, though it was slightly bettor in flavour. Mr.'Singleton, Acting Dairy Commissioner, spoke 1 on dairying generally, and expressed tho opinion that New Zealand had little to learn in what they were trying to do. They wanted not more knowledge, but more care.
