Casual "Bands.—Each man employed to receive wages'at time and an eighth rate and allowance, same as regular workers.

Terms of Employmant. 3. A worker who is not employed for more than three months continuously shall be classed as \a casual hand, and employers when engaging such worker shall acquainthim 'as to, the length of timo he shall bo required. 4. Forty-eight hours shall constitute a week's work, and no worker shall be compelled to work more than five hours continuously without an interval of at least three-quarters of an hour for a meal. All' time worked in excess of forty-eight hours in one week to be paid for according to the overtime scale hereinafter included. This clause shall not apply to creamery workers. o. All workers must bo employed , by tho year, excepting casual hands. (5. A factory shall hero include all milk depots and any branch connected with same.; The term in a factory to include in or about a factory. 7. The pay stated in all cases, with i the exception of casual hands, shall be fortnightly, and a fortnight's notice on either side must be given for terminating the engagement. 8. For more-than 20,000 pounds of milk received per day at any creamery there must be employed an assistant, whoso wages shall not bo less than 255. per week. 10. All factories making half a ton of butter or half a ton of cheese, averaged on a basis for time factory is running, shall be deeinod to have in emplovmcut, apart from the manager, a butter-maker or checsomaker respectively, with such other workers as they might require; such other workers to be called first assistant, second assistant, etc., in their order of merit and employment. Heads of creameries to be called creamery managers, and their assistants to be called first creamery assistant, ctc., in (heir respective order of merit.. 11. A fortnight's holiday on full pay shall bo allowed to all workers (casual hands' excepted). One clear day per week to bo also allowed, casual hands included. The latter portion of this clauso does not apply to creamery workers. Proof of Ability, 12. A certificate or testimonial from former manager or employer, in tho case of experienced workers, shall be doomed to-bo sulficieilt proof of such worker's ability. All such certificates shall state the last position in which the said worker was employed. Such certificate shall be deemed to bo sufficient proof of any applicant's ability for next higher grade. Managers or employers issuing such certificates or testimonials shall retain oxact copy of same. Applicants may apply by copy or copies of such certificates, hut on demand shall produce original.
