WELLINGTON NAVALS v. WANGANUI 'IRISH RIFLES. ■ , Tho abovo competition took place on Saturday last on the Piitilii rifle Tango.' The teams were composed of U men aside, including hon'. members of both , corps.' Some good - scores were registered. This is the third occasion on which ■ teams from the abovo corps have met in a friendly cbmpetition, the N rivals being victorious once, ; and' the. Irish Rifles tivice. i The :Irish Rifles thus won by. 59 :poirits. On the Friday evening before /the-,hijitch the visitors were entertained by-the Irish at a smoke concert, about 50 beiiiff present On: Sunday tho visitors- were taken up the Wanganui River in a launch, a trip that was very much appreciated by ' them. UPPER HUIT RIFLE CLUB. On Saturday last the Upper Hutt Rifle Club held competitions for Messrs. Greig's, Thomson's.yßoyd, and Gournal's, and M'Kay's trophies, Rifleman Thomson winning tho latter outright. Saturday's scores also count for the Wilford and Saunders' handicap. A Class.
