THE AUSTRALASIAN SQUADRON.
H.M.S. Powerful, flagship of tho Australasian . squadron, accompanied by H.M.S.'s Prometheus ,'and Pegasus, left Auckland at noon on Saturday for Lyttelton, where tho other vessels of tho squadron' will also assemble. The 1 squadron will remain at Lyttelton until January 20. Short cruises for gunnery practice will bo niado from that port. On January 21 the vessels will arrive at Wellington, where ;thoy will remain until February 1,1 when they sail, for Australia. Tho command of tho Station, at present held by Admiral IF awkes, will.be transferred to Sir Richard Poore on arrival at Melbourne.
