Sydney, Decomber 21. In connection with tho Arawatta-Ingeborg collision, and tho claim of tho owners of tho Ingoborg for compensation for tho loss of that vessel, tho Court found in favour of the Ingoborg, with costs against tho Arawatta, and referred all questions in regard to damages to tho Registrar.' Early in ■ the morning of August 14, when eight miles off Port Stephens, Now South Wales, tho steamer Arawatta ran into tho barque Ingoborg, bound from Wellington to Newcastle. Tho Ingoborg sank almost immediately, and seven men, including Captain Schmidt, were drowned. A Court of Marino Inquiry found that tho regulation lights wcro exhibited on tho Ingoborg, and that tho collision occurred through a proper lookout not being kept on tho Arawatta, for which tho second mato was found in default. His certificate was suspended for six months., Tho' Court was also of opinion that the Ingoborg contributed to tho collision by failing to tako the action prescribed in tho regulations for preventing collisions at sea, when a collision seoniod inovitablo. It enonorated tho captain of tho Arawatta from all blamo, and considered ho did all possible to savo tho crow.

NORTHERN TERRITORY. Adelaide, Dccembor 21. Both Houses of tho Stato Parliament havo. passed tho Bill providing for tho handing of tho Northern Territory to tho Commonwealth. The Bill has still to bo dealt with by tho Commonwealth Parliament. Tho Conference of Premiors passed; on tho motion of Mr. Carruthors, a resolution objecting to tho proposed agreement, which, according to Mr. Carrnthers, would cost ,£IOO,OOO a year.
