A SYDNEY MYSTERY.
. OPEN VERDICT. DT TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT. (Rec. Dec. 19, 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, December 18. An open verdict was' returned at the inquest on the body of tho fourteen-year-old boy, Oswald Barlow, who was found in tho ecran near Manly (a marino suburb of Sydney), with a. hatpin driven into tho breast. The lad had been missing for somo days, and it was stated at the timo that he had boen depressed through tho doparturo of a brothor to Now Zealand a few weeks ago. Tho medical evidenco at tho inquest showed that death was duo to drowning, and that tho hatpin, though it had not pierced tho heart, had been inserted during life, which act could havo been done by tho lad himself.
