SALVATION ARMY.
Brigadier Albiston, Provincial Commander ol' the Salvation Army, desires to thank the many friends and sympathisers for their assistance and splendid liberality of the past towards all branches of the Salvation Army work. At this season of the year especially, gifts are bestowed. The Army's friends, out of their abundance, will, it is believed, not forget the poor.• The Salvation Army does not scatter charity broadcast. Every ca.se, before assistance aild relief is given, is visited and its circumstances inquired into. Thus it is the deserving poor who aro assisted. The Army's oflicers in their work of visitation meet with those of the pool" who would not ask relief, nor would they go to a place where public distribution of relief is being made. Rather would they suffor. It is this class of poor they desire to assist. Any gifts or donations sent, to the Provincial Headquarters, Caledonian Chambers. Willis Street, will reach their proper destination, a« desired by tlio .donor.
