Palmer and Co.', auctioneers, and fifth son of Colonel Hume, 1 aged thirty-twd. The deceased, who was j vory popular lioro, was taken suddenly ill ' on Saturday, and underwent an operation, ; tho illness terminating fatally thin morning. 0 Mr. Huino was well known in athletic circles, , and on the football field and the Liov.-Jinir green. i] A motion of condolence with tho relatives of tho lato Mr. S. S. Hume was passed lit a meeting of the Star Boating Club last night. Mr. C. Pea roe, captain of tho club, stated that tho lato Mr. lftiino, joined the club as !- a coxswain in 18S5, and was entered oil the '■ active list in 1804. Ho rowed in sovcral '' winning crews, and was an enthusiastic oarsman until ho left for Palmerston about four „ years ago. A motion of condolence was also 1; passed with Mr, Frod Turnbull 011 the death of his wife>
