A publication just issued by the Contral •Esporantist Office in Paris shows that there are 639 Esperanto societies throughout the world, thirty-eight journals are published specially dovotod to the 'propagation of the language, there are Esperanto Consuls or agonts in 170 towns, aiui the language lias been accepted for use by eleven different Congresses.
Police Commissioner Bingham, of New York, has been requested by a telegraph operator in Kansas City to pick out for him from among the thousand young women who recently reached New York from England, a "nice, fat, short wife." The operator says the girl must he a brunette, with wavy Ifnir. but abovo all else she must bo fat ana short.
