Totalisator speciila--1 tion was brisk, and during tho after-' 1 noon the sum of £10,435 was invested, bring--1 ing tho total for the mooting up to £20,732, • an ■ increase of £4637 on last year's figures. Tho fields throughout the day wore good,. \ and the racing interesting! ■The ; totalisator " arrangements worked. satisfactorily, and the ' public now seem to thoroughly understand • the system of early closing. The fields were 1 serif out early on every occasion, and Mr. Keith, .the starter, despatched- thorn with • very little delay. A. Oliver; , 'rider of -Tangi-moana-in the Summer .Handicap, was dis- '. qualified during the.-pleasure of the stewards ■ for alleged boring of Moloch.: The affair was not serious and did not affect the result, of the race.
