RAILWAY DEPARTMENT.
The following transfers in (lie Government Railway Department are announced Mr. R. Maxwell, locomotive foreman, from Napior to Palmerston North; Mr. C. Welling, Wanganui to Auckland; Mr. A. Ilislop, Cross Creek to Wanganui: Mr. T. Underwood, Now Plymouth to Cross Creek. Messrs. R. Shaw and 11. . Davis, engine-drivers, have been promsted to take charge of tho engine-sheds at Now Plymouth and Napier respectively.
